Punjab residents receive call from unknown number giving bomb threats on June 1

Several citizens received a recorded message claiming to be from SFJ Chief and Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Pannun issuing the bomb threat, confirmed DGP Law and Order Arpit Shukla

A message claiming to be from Sikh for Justice chief and Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun was received by several citizens saying that there will be explosions across Punjab at sites where PM Modi addressed public rallies during his campaign. These locations are Gurdaspur, Patiala, Jalandhar and Hoshiarpur.

Punjab DGP Law and Order Arpit Shukla, confirmed to True Scoop, that several people have received the recorded message from the number, +44 7537 105255. However, the DGP says that there is no need to panic and preparations are being made to ramp up security and neutralise any possible threat on June 1. Citizens are urged to remain calm and exercise their right to vote on June 1 without any fear.

PM Modi visited Punjab to address public rallies in favour of BJP’s Lok Sabha Candidates. PM Modi reached Patiala on May 23 and Gurdaspur and Jalandhar on May 24. PM Modi also addressed a rally in Hoshiarpur on May 30.

Polling in Punjab will occur on June 1 along 9 other states/UTs across India in the seventh phase of Lok Sabha elections.
