Now booking a cab ride is as easy as doing a WhatsApp message. Uber has partnered with the Meta-Owned messaging platform WhatsApp. The new service is first available in Lucknow, and it will roll out to more cities in the future. Customers will be able to book Uber cars, Uber Moto (motorcycles) and autos with the feature.

Uber stated, "Starting this week, we are rolling out a new service that gives people the option to book an Uber ride via an official Uber WhatsApp chatbot. Riders will no longer need to download or use the Uber app. Everything from user registration, booking a ride, and getting a trip receipt will be managed within the WhatsApp chat interface."

The service will be available in English, Uber said, adding that Indian languages will be included in the near future. The service is available to both new and existing users who registered with only a phone number on Uber.

The company has, also, stated that with this integration with WhatsApp, riders will no longer need to download or use the Uber app.

How can we book a cab using WhatsApp?

You have to follow these following simple steps to book a cab using WhatsApp:

·       Message Uber’s business account number or scan a QR Code from your device or click a link directly to open an Uber WhatsApp chat.

·       After the 1sr step, you will be asked to provide pick-up and drop-off locations.

·       Users will receive upfront fare information and the driver’s expected time of arrival.

However, riders will get the same safety features and insurance protections as they were getting earlier when a person booked Uber from an app. They will be informed about the driver’s name, cab number and can track the location of the driver. They can also talk to the driver like before.
