Due to the advertisement, Twitter users are also targeting Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor.

Why did Malabar Gold come under attack?

Malabar Gold has released a new advertisement of jewelery regarding Akshaya Tritiya, in which Kareena Kapoor is seen. 

However, Twitter users complain that Kareena Kapoor has not put a dot in this advertisement. 


Trollers say that Akshaya Tritiya is a festival of Hindus and on such occasions Hindu women apply kumkum or bindi, but why did Kareena not wear a bindi in this advertisement? This is an insult to Hinduism.

Demand to boycott Malabar Gold

After the video surfaced, Twitter users demanded to boycott Malabar Gold and started tweeting with hashtags #Boycott_MalabarGold and #No_Bindi_No_Business.

According to the information given on the website of Malabar Gold and Diamond, the company was established in the year 1993 by a team of entrepreneurs led by MP Ahmed.

The company is headquartered in Kozhikode city of Kerala and has more than 250 showrooms across the country. According to the data given on the company's website, about 13 thousand people work in different showrooms of Malabar Gold.
