According to reports, Kareena Kapoor Khan will play Sita in Alaukik Desai's upcoming film, Ramayana, which is said to be a Bollywood adaptation of the Hindu classic. There have also been reports that the actress has asked for a large fee to play the role.

The Jab We Met actress is claimed to have increased her remuneration for this role, asking for Rs 12 crore for the project. And it appears that netizens are unhappy with her for requesting such a large sum, as they took to Twitter to express it.

The Twitterati demanded that the actress from Good Newz be boycotted. They also claimed that Kareena is infringing on their religious sensibilities by demanding too much for her role as Sita in the film, which they described as "against humanity." On Twitter, the hashtag #BoycottKareenaKhan is trending, with fans slamming the actress.

The directors of Sita approached the Veere Di Wedding star. According to the web portal, a source close to the situation said, “Kareena, who usually asks INR 6-8 crore for films, has quoted INR 12 crore, which has the producers in a tizzy. In fact, they are currently reconsidering their decision and are in talks to cast the film with a younger actress. However, Kareena is still the first choice.”
