Bollywood and Punjabi singer Mika Singh recently lambasted Nihang Amritpal Singh Mehron and his associates, who killed influencer Kamal Kaur Bhabhi aka Kanchan Kumar. Ludhiana-based influencer Kamal Kaur Bhabhi was lured to Bathinda by Amritpal Singh Mehron and his associates for a promotional event, but when she was going with them in a Scorpio, they strangled her to death in a garage. Bathinda SSP confirmed that Kamal Kaur Bhabhi was murdered over her social media content that Amritpal Mehron deemed as Vulgar.
In a video statement, Mika Singh delivered a scathing, emotionally charged response, demanding justice and accountability.
Mika, who belongs to a Sikh family, called out the hypocrisy and violence masked under religious pretense. "An influencer lady has been murdered. My name is Mika Singh, and I come from a Sikh family. Two Nihang Singhs together killed the woman. Clap for them — well done! (sarcastically). We keep saying that we stand with the poor, the oppressed, that we support them when needed. And now this?”
He continued, taking direct aim at the alleged prime accused, Amritpal Singh Mehron: “There’s someone named Amritpal, I’ve heard the name. What a superstar he’s become. Salute! (again, sarcastically). Shame on you and your entire gang. You don’t raise your hands on the unarmed, on women, on children. If you had a problem, you should’ve filed a complaint.”
'Misrepresenting Sikh values'
Mika then said, "The entire world respects our community for selfless service, for langars started by Guru Nanak Dev Ji. And now this? You’ve stooped so low that you murder women just because of the clothes they wear or the content they create? If you have such bravery, go stop the real atrocities happening in the world.”
The singer emphasized that the Sikh community has always stood for righteousness and sacrifice, invoking the legacy of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, "On one hand, we have the legacy of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, who sacrificed his life for the country. And on the other hand, you think you’ve done something heroic by murdering a woman? You think that’s bravery?”
Mika also addressed the growing trend of self-styled morality policing, and said, "Now what? Is this all you’re left with to target influencers across the world, those who wear certain clothes, or say something you don’t agree with? You don’t like it? Then slap a complaint, give a warning, but don’t take a life.”
The Punjabi singer then concluded by making a direct appeal to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. Mika said, "I humbly request Bhagwant Mann ji and the Punjab government to take strong action against such people. None of us has the right to take the law into our own hands. We have a police force. We have laws. Please investigate this matter seriously and find out why it happened in the first place.”
