The 52-year-old crew member tragically collapsed as passengers were in their seats awaiting take-off from London Heathrow to Hong Kong.

As soon as British Airways steward's death took place, passengers were left in horror. The doors were locked on BA Flight 32 and the pilot had requested to push-back to head to the runway when the crew member suddenly dropped to the floor in the rear galley.

After the steward collapsed, the Captain urgently called for medical assistance and a passenger trained in first aid rushed to help. However, despite the arrival of police and ambulance teams,  the steward could not be saved and devastated passengers were told the New Year’s Eve flight was axed due to a 'medical emergency'. Following that, the passengers were shifted to another flight - BA31 - the next day.

It is pertinent to mention here that it is not the first time a crew member has died on the flight in front of the passengers. A second BA steward, also 52, died in the US on December 23.
