While the India-Canada relationship continues to remain strained, Canadian media on Friday alleged that the country's agency possesses 'leaked transcripts of communication of Indian diplomats' which links New Delhi to the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Apart from this, the Canadian media further stated that the input was received by one of the intelligence agencies of the G7 countries who are close allies of Canada. While Canada's proof against India is among the most talking points in the world, British Columbia Premier David Eby dropped a bombshell on the Justin Trudeau government over Canada's proof against India.

On Friday, British Columbia Premier David Eby informed the media that the ‘intelligence briefing’ received by him was based on open-source, internet material. "The only briefing I’m able to receive from the CSIS (Canadian intelligence agency) are open information briefings or open source briefings which is information that’s available to the public doing an internet search – Which I found frustrating,” said Eby during a press conference. It is pertinent to mention here that David Eby, who represents the New Democratic Party in Canada and is an ally of the Trudeau government, expressed frustration that the government was withholding information about the Khalistani terrorist.

"I expressed my frustration in the meeting with the CSIS director about our inability to get more concrete information,” the Premier of British Columbia emphasised adding that reforms with the Canadian Intelligence Agency might be the need of the hour. “If that’s what’s required, let’s make it happen, because the only way that we’re going to make traction on this is by the federal government trusting the provincial government with information and being able to act on it in our local communities,” Eby added.
