In a remarkable display of national spirit and wellness, the Border Security Force (BSF) organized a grand celebration of the 11th International Day of Yoga at the iconic Joint Check Post (JCP) Attari, situated along the India-Pakistan border. This year’s global theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” came alive with the active participation of BSF personnel, students, villagers, Padma awardees, and national athletes.

The event commenced with a traditional welcome and inaugural address, followed by a large-scale mass yoga session led by trained instructors. The session began with Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) and included various yogic postures such as Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Bhujangasana, and Pranayama, encouraging holistic wellness.

Gracing the occasion as chief guest, Inspector General Atul Fulzele, IPS, of BSF Punjab Frontier, described yoga as a timeless gift to humanity. “Yoga is not just exercise—it is a way of life that cultivates peace, unity, and balance, especially meaningful at a place like Attari where nations meet,” he remarked.

The event was part of BSF’s Mission India-Pakistan Border, a people-centric initiative aimed at strengthening emotional and cultural ties in border regions through health, discipline, and community involvement.

Children and youth from surrounding border villages actively participated and took a pledge to adopt yoga in their daily lives. The BSF emphasized that such programs build bridges of trust, promote mental and physical health, and reinforce the idea of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ (One India, Great India).

The program concluded with a felicitation ceremony honoring local sports talent and social workers, further highlighting BSF’s commitment beyond security—towards community upliftment and national unity.

As the sun rose over the Attari border, the peaceful rhythm of yoga resonated across the frontier—symbolizing that even at dividing lines, India stands united in health, harmony, and hope.
