BSF seized 47 kgs heroin along with arms at an encounter in Gurdaspur, one soldier injured

The heroin recovered during encounter was worth crores of rupees.

On Friday, BSF seized 47 kg of heroin, arms and ammunition from Chandu Wadala post in Punjab's Gurdaspur. A soldier was also injured during the encounter. But his condition is stable now. The heroin recovered during the encounter was worth crores of rupees.

BSF DIG said, “At about 5.15 am today, BSF jawan observed movement near the fence and fired on the Pakistan smugglers. Pakistan smugglers also retaliated and in the firing, one jawan got injured and is stable now.”

 “BSF troops foiled attempt of Pakistani smugglers and seized 47 yellow plastic covered packets suspected to be heroin, 7 packets suspected to be opium, 44 rounds of 0.30 calibre, 1 Chinese pistol with 2 magazines, one Beretta pistol, 4 magazines of AK 47 and others,” he added.

On January 24, the Border Security Force also successfully recovered and seized three AK-47 Rifles, six 9MM pistols, 1071 ammunitions, 20 Hand Grenades, two IEDs and 17.3 kg Heroin worth around Rs 88 crore in different operational incidents during the year 2021 in J&K.
