At the same time, a large number of Delhi Police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed to deal with any situation. At the same time, during the action against encroachment in the Jahangirpuri area, more than 12 illegal shops were vandalized in front of the mosque present here.

Meanwhile, some people also pelted stones near the temple at some distance. Accordingly, the illegal construction happening in front of the mosque has been removed.

Meanwhile, Left leader Vranta Karat also reached the area of Jahangirpuri where the Demolition Squad of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation was taking action. They say that when the Supreme Court has ordered to create status quo.

Why was the demolition action continued?

Explain that during the hearing on Wednesday, the Supreme Court asked to maintain the status quo in Delhi's Jahangirpuri for the time being. The petition against the drive to remove the encroachment will now be heard again on Thursday.

At the same time, action on the spot has been stopped after the Supreme Court informed about the ban on running bulldozers on illegal encroachment in the Jahangirpuri area.

In this regard, Raja Iqbal Singh, the Mayor of North Delhi, present in Jahangirpuri, has said that the action should be stayed for the time being after the order of the Supreme Court. Overall, the action of removal of encroachment from the North Delhi Municipal Corporation has been stopped.

The action against encroachment will be started again only when there is an order on the petition filed in the Supreme Court. For the time being the status quo will remain. At the same time, earlier in the Jahangirpuri area, encroachment removal action was started on Wednesday morning.

What happened on 16th April?

In this episode, first of all, street vendors were broken through bulldozers at Kushal Chowk. After breaking the road, other illegal constructions have also been demolished. On April 16, during the Hanuman Janmotsav, stones were pelted on the procession at Kushal Chowk itself.

More than half a dozen policemen were also injured in this.  At the same time, during the action taken by the North Delhi Municipal Corporation, accordingly, the illegal construction within 100 meters of the mosque was removed on Wednesday.

Although the encroachment is yet to be removed, the demolition has been stopped after the order of the Supreme Court to create a status quo.

A total of 6 bulldozers took action to remove the encroachment in the Jahangirpuri area for some time on Wednesday. During this demolition action, it has also been learned that plastic items and plastic bottles were kept in the sacks kept on the drains and the road.

In the process of removing the encroachment, the bulldozer also removed the illegal encroachment made at the place where Sonu Chikna had fired. Action against encroachment would continue in the Jahangirpuri area for the next two days, but now after the ban, action is not being taken.

On the other hand, the driver of the bulldozer had told that as part of the action against the encroachment, the slums and shops built on the roads would be removed.

In fact, due to the non-official information about the removal of encroachment since Wednesday morning, the fear of it was also being seen in the people. A person present at the spot had said that they collect garbage or waste material here.

Now they are removing it because we have come to know that bulldozers will come here. According to the Jagran correspondent, encroachment has been done in Jahangirpuri by placing junk on the sidewalks and drains and making slums. Illegal constructions have also been done.

The police team had taken stock of the situation before removing the encroachment

At the same time, before the anti-encroachment drive announced by the MCD, DCP North West Usha Rangnani inspected the Jahangirpuri area along with the police team.

Delhi Police on Wednesday morning also took stock of the situation in Jahangirpuri, where violence broke out during a religious procession on April 16.
