Punjab Cabinet Minister and Singer Anmol Gagan Maan tied the knot today with the Laavan (Anand Karaj) with Advocate Shahbaz Singh completed at Gurdwara Shri Nabha Sahib in Zirakpur. Members of both the families were present on this occasion.
Now the newly married couple has gone to the marriage palace where a reception party has been arranged. Many famous people from the Punjabi music industry and politics are expected to be in attendence. The palanquin (doli) will leave at 5 pm.
Anmol Gagan Maan's family is originally from Mansa district. However, most of her time has been spent in Chandigarh and Mohali. She did her studies from Chandigarh following which she joined the Punjabi Music Industry. She worked in several Punjabi albums one after the other.
As soon as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government was formed in the state, she was given the post of cabinet minister, handling the tourism & cultural affairs department.
In-laws are also in politics
The family in which Anmol Gagan Maan is getting married also has a significant amount of influence in its area. Her husband Advocate Shahbaz Singh is a businessman by profession. While Shahbaz's mother Seelam Sohi is in politics.
She contested the election from Banur assembly constituency on a Congress ticket against Shiromani Akali Dal leader and former finance minister Captain Kanwaljit. His father was close to former CM Beant Singh. His grandfather had reached the assembly by contesting as an independent candidate.
