A new twist has emerged in the troubling case of Dr. Dharmesh Patel's accident that took place in January 2023 last year. Indian-American Dharmesh Patel last year drove his Tesla off a 250-ft cliff along with his family- wife & two children. Miraculously all of them survived. However, radiologist Dr Dharmesh Patel was arrested after US authorities believed that he deliberately tried to kill his family. The accident took place at Devil Slide Cliff in California on January 2, 2023.

Now, it has been revealed that Dharmesh Patel experienced a psychotic break when he was driving. Two doctors testified at a hearing on Wednesday in Redwood City. The doctors informed the court that the Pasadena radiologist’s delusions were provoked by the nation’s fentanyl crisis, the war in Ukraine. As per the doctors, Dharmesh feared his children could be kidnapped and molested, which appeared to have been connected to Patel’s worries about accused s*x trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

If the court accepts Doctor's testimony then Patel can be placed on a two-year treatment plan instead of receiving jail time. Dharmesh Patel’s charges would be dropped if he doesn’t commit any crimes during the proposed treatment plan. If the court accepts doctor's testimony, Dharmesh will undergo treatment in the mental diversion program under the watch of James Armontrout, a Stanford psychiatric clinician.

Patel’s potential treatment includes 'extensive outpatient care involving group and individual therapy sessions, as well as meetings with himself and a psychotherapist.'
