The world is observing two significant events on August 15 i.e. 74th Independence Day and Global Prayer Meet for the late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput. On this occasion, the California State Assembly has paid obeisance to SSR for his contribution to cinema and the community.
On his behalf, Shweta Singh Kirti, the actor's sister, has received the certificate of recognition too.
Shweta Singh Kirti said, "It’s a great privilege for me to accept this honor from California State Assembly, on behalf of my brother, in remembrance and appreciation of his philanthropic work and contributions to Indian cinema. I thank the Assembly members and the Indian American community for their continuous support in these hours of crisis.”
"On the occasion of Indian Independence Day California recognizes my brother’s (Sushant) overall contribution to society. California is with us.... are you? Thanks for your support California. 🙏," wrote the late actor's sister on her social media handles.

On August 14, Sushant Singh Rajput's family observed a 24-hour spiritual prayer on two months of the actor's death. The family had also urged people to join them in prayer. A collective minute of silence and prayer has also been observed at 10 am today.
Sharing a quote from the Bhagavad Gita, Shweta wrote, "It has been 2 months you left us Bhai and we are still fighting to know the truth, to know what actually happened that day. I request you all to please join us for Global 24-hour spiritual and prayer observation for Sushant Singh Rajput so that the truth prevails and we find justice for our beloved Sushant #GlobalPrayers4SSR #CBIForSSR #Warriors4SSR #justiceforSushantSinghRajput #godiswithus (sic)."

A campaign #JusticeForSushantSinghRajput has been initiated to bring people together to ask for CBI inquiry in the case. Many Bollywood celebrities also took to social media to show their support for this campaign.
While the Mumbai Police declared the death of Sushant Singh Rajput a case of suicide, Sushant's father, KK Singh, filed a case of abetment to suicide against Rhea Chakraborty and her family in Patna. Rhea and Sushant were in a relationship before the actor died. In his complaint, Singh also accused Rhea of pocketing Rs 15 crore from Sushant's bank account.
