Capt Amarinder Singh invites Navjot Sidhu for a luncheon meeting on Wednesday

Punjab CM and Navjot Sidhu are not on the best terms ever since Sidhu quitted the state council of ministers

Punjab Navjot-Sidhu Lunch-Meeting

Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has invited former minister and MLA Navjot Singh Sidhu to a luncheon meeting on Wednesday.

This was disclosed by Raveen Thukral Media Advisor to the CM in a tweet: "He & @sherryontopp are expected to discuss state & national politics over the luncheon meeting."

According to Thukral, both leaders are expected to discuss state and national politics during this meeting.

It is pertinent to mention here, Punjab CM and Navjot Sidhu are not on the best terms ever since Sidhu quitted the state council of ministers after he was divested of the local body government department last year.

Notably, Sidhu was last seen sharing the stage over black farm laws with Punjab Chief Minister after the former came out of his self-hibernation.

All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary and state in-charge Harish Rawat has been openly trying for a settlement between Amarinder and Sidhu. According to Rawat, the cricketer-turned-politician has an important role to play in Punjab politics.

However, discontent lies there in a section of the party over the importance of being given by Rawat to Sidhu. Rawat has recently advised the state leaders to be more “flexible and accommodating” towards the former minister.
