‘Captain Amarinder, Sunil Jakhar, Dhillon’: Farmers to surround Punjab leaders’ houses

Today is the third day of the farmers' protest and farmer organizations also called for a Bharat Bandh. Amidst these two big developments, farmers have now made another big announcement which is that they will surround the houses of three senior leaders of Punjab BJP tomorrow i.e. on 17th February.

 

BKU Ugrahan has announced a ‘sitdown’ around the houses of former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh, BJP Punjab President Sunil Jakhar and BJP leader Kewal Singh Dhillon. Punjab President of the organization, Jogendra Singh said that they have come fully in support of the farmers who are agitating for their demands. Yesterday they blocked the railway tracks, today they were involved in Bharat Bandh and today they have held a meeting. On the basis of that, they decided that as long as the meeting is not held with the United Kisan Morcha, houses of three big leaders of the BJP in Punjab, including former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, Punjabi BJP President Sunil Jakhar and BJP's Barnala leader Kewal Singh Dhillon will be completely surrounded.

 

Jogendra Singh further said that tomorrow, all the toll plazas of Punjab will be captured by the Bharatiya Kisan Union. Toll plaza will be made free. He said that they are with the farmers and  appeal to all other organizations to come together on one platform and fight for their demands together. Earlier, only a few organizations from Punjab were agitating for their demands. But now the largest farmers organization of Punjab stands along with them.

 

Farmers are currently stopped at Shambhu border. Today the protesting farmers were again pelted with tear gas shell by the Haryana Police. Apart from this, the farmers are also trying to move forward slowly, but at present, the police along with the security personnel have stopped them at the Shambhu border only. The are determined to reach Delhi to protest for their demands.
