Punjab Police has registered a case against Kumar Vishwas on several charges. It is alleged that Kumar Vishwas said in an interview during the elections that Kejriwal wants to become the Prime Minister of independent Khalistan.

An FIR has been registered against the former leader at Sadar Police Station in the Ropar district of Punjab.

At one time, I am warning Bhagwant Mann, who has been included in the party by me, that the man sitting in Delhi, whom you are allowing to play with the power given by the people of Punjab, will one day cheat you and Punjab also. The country remembers my warning.

Opposition parties protested

The opposition has opposed this, accusing the Aam Aadmi Party of "misusing police force to take political revenge".

Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira tweeted 'I strongly condemn the political vendetta being taken against Kumar Vishwas for making a statement against Kejriwal during the elections. What is the difference between the Aam Aadmi Party and the traditional parties?

I urge Bhagwant Mann not to allow Punjab Police to be used to settle political scores.
