Case filed against Moosewala's Advocate fan, threw Thar into canal to seek justice

The Punjab Police have charged a fan advocate of late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala with pushing a thar into the Basti Bawa Khel canal in Jalandhar yesterday.

The Punjab Police have charged a fan advocate of late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala with pushing a thar into the Basti Bawa Khel canal in Jalandhar yesterday.

A case was filed against the advocate under sections 283 and 287 of the Drain Act. In rage over the lack of justice in the murder of singer Sidhu Moosewala, the advocate threw the Thar vehicle into the canal.

The children bathing in the canal had a narrow escape when they saw the vehicle approaching them. The accused drove his car into the canal from the slope of the canal's stairs. At the time of the incident, a large crowd had gathered on the spot.

After being informed of the situation, the police officers arrived on the scene and used a crane to pull the vehicle out of the canal.

Furthermore, the Thar was pulled from the canal and taken into custody by the police. The advocate driving the vehicle and the other youths in it were also taken to the Bawa Basti Khel Police Station. Meanwhile, his family members were questioned further. The police station had also informed higher authorities about the situation.

On the incident, Advocate Harpreet Singh, who threw Thar into the canal, stated, "Sidhu Moosewala is not getting justice. His parents are telling him about the killers, but they are not being caught." He added, "For the justice of Sidhu Moosewala, he threw the Thar vehicle into the canal and tried to give a message through it. On the question of loss to anyone, the accused stated that all were safe during the incident.

According to sources, the massacre took place on May 29, 2022, in Jawaharke village, Mansa district, Punjab, by car-riding killers who shot dead famous singer Shubhdeep Singh, aka Sidhu Moosewala. Sidhu was in his Thar vehicle at the time of the incident. The weapons used in the massacre were AK-47s, including 30-bore and 9-mm pistols, according to the investigation of Moosewala's body and bullets recovered from the crime scene.

A forensic investigation revealed that Moosewala died as a result of bullet wounds to the lungs and liver. Sidhu Moosewala was hit by seven bullets, one full and one half of which were found in his body. A total of 25 fires were set at the Thar, which Moosewala was travelling through, with some also found in the surrounding walls, houses, and fields.

Notably, the Punjab Police have arrested 29 people in connection with Sidhu's murder case. While two suspects were killed in police encounters and five were brought from abroad. After approximately 425 days, charges could be filed against the accused. Previously, after 30 hearings, the Punjab Police were able to present all of the accused in court together. CJM Mansa filed the chargesheet against the 25 accused in the murder case, and further hearings will be held in the sessions court. At the same time, Sidhu Moosewala's father, Balkaur Singh, has expressed hope for justice.

A member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Goldie Brar, is the main suspect in the murder of Moosewala. A total of 27 of the 31 accused have been taken into custody. One of the defendants, Mandeep Singh, and Manmohan Singh, both perished in fights inside the jail. While the other 25 suspects are detained in various Punjabi jails.
