In yet another shameful incident, a man in Rajasthan's capital Jaipur was caught on camera attempting to grope a female foreign tourist. DCW (Delhi Commission for Women) Chief Swati Maliwal on Monday took to her Twitter handle and shared a video was is already going viral. The DCW Chief tagged Rajasthan Police and Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. CM Gehlot and the Rajasthan Police were asked to take strict action against the man trying to touch the female tourist inappropriately.
In the video, the man can be seen touching the female tourist repeatedly and she is clearly looking uncomfortable by the gesture. The female foreign tourist was accompanied by a male partner as well who also found the local man's behaviour awkward. Although the man can be heard talking about Indian culture & society, he shamelessly attempts to touch the woman’s upper arm and ultimately grope her breasts. Sharing the video, the DCW chief wrote, "Just came across this video where this man can be seen inappropriately touching a foreign tourist. It is very shameful. Tagging @ashokgehlot51 and @PoliceRajasthan for action. These incidents are bringing bad name to the nation!"

It is pertinent to mention here that harassment of foreign tourists is not new in Rajasthan. A few months back, a female Korean vlogger was allegedly harassed by a man in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The foreigner was recording a video of herself walking on the city's blue streets when the man started following her and later exposed his private parts. The incident was caught on camera and the woman posted the footage on the internet. After the video went viral, the Rajasthan Police registered a case and arrested the accused. In that incident as well, the DCW Chief Swati Maliwal urged the Rajasthan CM to take strict actions and had termed the incident "extremely disgusting."
Apart from Rajasthan, last month a Dutch YouTuber named Pedro Mota allegedly harassed and attacked in the Chickpet area of Bengaluru. Sharing the video of the incident after two months, Pedro Mota took to his YouTube handle and wrote, "Attacked at the Thieves Market in India."
Detailing his experience, he wrote, "Foreigner traveling in India experiences the thieves market in Bangalore, also known as the Sunday market or chor bazaar. But exploring the area started out on the wrong foot as an angry man attacked me by grabbing and twisting my hand and arm, lunging after me as I tried to escape.” Pedro Mota was walking in the market area where he came across a man who appeared to be a Muslim trader. When the trader saw that Pedro is recording a video, he immediately caught his hand and questioned about the recording.
