CBSE 2021 board exams will be taken in ‘conventional written mode’, not online

The exam dates have not been decided, yet, officials said.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that 2021 board examinations will be conducted in the conventional written mode, adding that there was no plan to conduct the exams online. 

CBSE said, "The board examinations of 2021 will be in the regular written manner and not online.”

The officials said the dates of examination have not been decided yet. 

According to the Ministry of Education, "conducting the examinations is important to ensure the progress as well as a better future of the students".

Amid the covid pandemic and 'new normal' system of things are changing. Discussions have been initiated among students, parents and teachers regarding the examinations, covering a broad spectrum. 

This year everything related to education has moved online, from the registration of board exams to classroom operations. 

Earlier, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had said: "Online education is a big challenge for students who are constantly away from school and college. But students should always be ready to turn this challenge into an opportunity."

Owing to all such possibilities, the government has taken a fresh initiative to conduct the examinations promptly amid the Covid-19 situation.

The Education Minister has planned a three-stage dialogue with the alumni, parents and teachers for conducting the examinations. He is likely to communicate directly with students, parents and teachers through webinars on three different dates.

The education minister will review the examinations to be held in the states and union territories based on the virtual meeting and the suggestions from the mentioned parties.

After all the suggestions are thoroughly studied and examined, a detailed plan to conduct the examinations will be made according to the orders of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Home Affairs.

Mr Pokhriyal said, "The biggest challenge is to study with better resolve and will and to release the results on time so that students do not waste an entire academic year," adding that for it is necessary to conduct the examinations across the country on time for the better future of the students.
