The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) affiliated school association has issued a new set of guidelines through a recent public notice. Their guidelines were as follows:

1. All CBSE member schools (Affiliated Schools) shall charge and demand same fees structure as of the previous session 2019-20 and after the option of monthly and quarterly payment facility in order to give relief to the parents during this pandemic.

2. All member school shall adhere to the formula devised by the association for collection of fees for the session 2020-21, keeping in view the Honorable High Court orders.

a) Tuition fees- 100% for the entire session

b) Annual charges- 70% of the previous year till the physical reopening of the school. Once the school re-opens, 100% of the annual charges may be charged for remaining months

c) Transportation fee- 50% of the previous year can be charged till physical reopening of the school. Once the school re-opens, 100% of the transportation charges may be charged for remaining months

d) Other charges related to maintenance and sanitization of premises and infrastructure may be charged from the parents 

e) School shall not charge any other fee for which services has not been provided to the students such as meals, computer fees, lab fee etc till the  physical reopening of the school

3. Parents are advised to clear their dues for quarter April- June by 31st of July 2020 so that schools are able to continue with providing education, paying salaries to their staff, and meet other expenses including statutory payments and bank interests 

4. Parents who are genuinely financially affected during lockdown period i.e till June 8 June 2020 due to COVID-19 and may file their application with the concerned school authorities in writing along with necessary proof about their financial status within 7 days of publication of this notice which shall be looked into by the school authorities sympathetically, defer the payment or may give concession on merits. In case the parent is still aggrieved, in any manner, with an adverse decision by the school on his application, he may approach the regulatory body, so constituted under section 7 of the Punjab regulation and forward copy of the application to the association office at mail ID casa001234@gmail.com for speedy resolution. 

All the member school shall in the future compulsorily take "No Objection Certificate" (NOC) and TC issued and signed by no less than the position of the principal of the previous school for any new admission from class 1 to grade 11 with immediate effect. 

What now is left to be seen is that how the respective affiliate CBSE schools will bring this notice into action moreover, how the parents are going to react to this notice. Will they comply? Will they reject this notice? We are most likely going to have answers to these questioning the very near future.
