Centre invites Punjab farmers' organizations for second round of talks on December 3

The Centre government on Tuesday has again sent an invite to the farmer organizations who have been protesting over contentiously passed farm laws for talks. 

The meeting will be held on December 3 in New Delhi. 

Disclosing the information, former Union Minister Vijay Sampla in a tweet wrote, "Centre Government has invited Farmer Organisations for talks on December 3, 2020. He expressed hope that these talks will be fruitful."

According to the report of The Tribune,  Food Secretary Sudhanshu Pandey said: “We have called the representatives of over 30 farmer organizations for the second round of discussion on December 3 at Vigyan Bhawan at 11 am.”

The invitation has sent by the secretary to the farmer bodies on behalf of Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar. Food Minister Piyush Goyal is also expected to be present in the meeting.

Also, officials from the Food and Agriculture Departments of the Punjab government have been invited for the talks.

Before this, the farmer organizations were called twice for the meeting on November 13by the Centre however,  no constructive conclusion was drawn as both sides remained stuck to their ground.
