In the latest advisory issued to all states and union territories by the govt, it said the validity of all permits, driving licenses and registrations or other documents which have expired since February 1 or will expire by June 30, will be considered valid until June 30.

However, the decision has been taken to ease people facing difficulties in renewing the validity of various motor vehicle documents due to the nation-wide lockdown and closure of government transport offices.

All necessary documents include fitness, permits (all types), driving licence, registration or any other concerned document under the Motor Vehicle Rules.

The ministry has requested all states to implement the advisory in "letter and spirit" so that the people and transporters and organisations taking part in providing essential services do not get harassed and face difficulties.
