The Centre government has turned down the offer by the Punjab government to pay the farmers for not burning the stubble. Giving a reaction on this, CM Mann said that we have appealed to the central government for help in the stubble management for the upcoming season. But the central government has disapproved Punjab government's demand.

CM Mann said that the Punjab government will help the people itself. Punjab government appointed officers to make farmers aware of not burning the stubble. Rice is sown on 75,00,000 acres of land in Punjab. People already do not burn stubble on their own on about 37 lakh acres of land. The Punjab government will give machines to the farmers for the remaining land. The Punjab government will provide one lakh machines this time for the farmers to prevent stubble burning.
