After a most successful stint as the president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Amit Shah, who is called the "Chanakya" of modern day Indian politics, was on Thursday sworn in as a cabinet minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Council of Ministers. 

Shah has been given one of the most important - Home portfolio, which was earlier held by Rajnath Singh – the official no. 2 in the Narendra Modi Cabinet, who has now been given the defense portfolio.
