Heinous crime was reported from Chandigarh where a 26-year-old girl hailing from Himachal Pradesh was gang-raped. The police were informed about the same and as per information one accused has got arrested while the other one is still absconding. The incident was reported from Sector 39.
Reportedly, the victim is from Shimla while she was staying in Chandigarh. The girl was kidnapped and kept inside a room where she was raped for 4 days by the accused. She somehow on the 5th day managed to escape from a hostage situation, and lodged a complaint against the accused by reaching a police station. The police reached the location based on victim’s statement. During the raid one accused was arrested while another fled from the scene.
The victim got her statement recorded where she revealed that both the accused raped her turn by turn for 4 continuous days. The girl revealed that she had come to Mohali for a job and used to live on rent. She came in touch in one of the accused and were friends. She further revealed that the accused took victim for a ride where he kept her hostage and carried out this crime.
The investigation revealed that both the accused were from Punjab while one has been sent to Burail Jail the search operation for another is still on. Medical test of the victim is already done and further investigation will be done based on the reports. Family of the victim has also been informed.
