In a press conference in 2007, Aroosa had described herself as a friend of Captain. Aroosa Alam was also the special guest at the Oath-ceremony of Amarinder Singh as Chief Minister of Punjab in 2017.

Before the February 2022 Punjab Assembly elections, the Congress party replaced Captain Amarinder Singh as Chief Minister with Charanjit Singh Channi. The Congress's high leadership sided with Navjot Singh Sidhu in the conflict between Captain and Sidhu, and as a result, Captain resigned from his position and left the Congress party. A fight between Channi and Sidhu also began soon after Channi was appointed Chief Minister. Then Aroosa Alam said that Congressmen are paying the punishment for their actions. She called it Poetic Justice.

Aroosa claimed that Charanjit Channi was an undemocratically elected weak CM. Aroosa called Captain Amarinder Singh a fighter. Aroosa described the captain as an experienced and clean leader and said that politics needed him.
