New Delhi: The national capital woke up to another chilly morning today as the temparature hits 5 degree in New Delhi, three points below the season average.

On Tuesday, the departure of the flights from Indira Gandhi International airport was halted for two hours due to heavy fog. No flight has taken off from seven to nine in the morning on Tuesday morning.

The cold wave continues in many states of the country due to the winds coming from the north-west. The temperature fell down to a record breaking minus 6.8 degrees in Jammu and Kashmir Srinagar, today.

            The mercury reached zero in Mekluskiganj in Jharkhand as well. A total of 16 people have died due to cold in last two days in the state.

About 42 cities of Madhya Pradesh also recorded a below 10 degree temperature.
