For over more than five decades, the Indian and Chinese Army had the worst clash in Galwan Valley, Eastern Ladakh, where 20 Indian soldiers have sacrificed their lives for the nation. However, no firing took place at the border, it was a hand-to-hand fight where the Chinese troops made use of stones, clubs, and sticks embedded with nails to attack the Indian Army soldiers on Monday night.

The 16 Bihar Regiment, led by Col Santosh Babu, that took on the Chinese army on the narrow ridge in Galwan Valley were pelted with stones and beat up with clubs covered in nails.

Reportedly, similar weapons were used in skirmishes by the Chinese army on May 18-19 on Indian soldiers in the finger area in Ladakh.

Some of the bodies of the 20 Indian soldiers killed in Ladakh were mutilated by the Chinese troops during the attack. Indian officials have maintained that no bullets were fired from either side during the violent clashes.

The mutilated condition of the bodies has led to heat up tension among the stationed Army units in Galwan and other regions of Ladakh.

On the other hand, reports have suggested that the Chinese side has also suffered heavy casualties. Sources have said China has suffered 40 casualties in the Galwan clash.

India and China will resume Major General-level talks on Thursday after the talks remained inconclusive on Wednesday.
