Heihe city of China is offering cash in thousands of dollars upon giving information on any covid case in the city to trace its latest outbreak.

Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases are continuously rising in China since the highly-infectious delta variant virus is affecting many in the country despite taking requisite measures to curb the emerging cases. Consistently surging 43 local cases on Tuesday in 20 provinces kept on multiplying for the last month. The fresh outbreak is concentrated mostly in north China states and recorded the highest 97,423 confirmed cases of Covid-19 up to November 2.

Although tightened strict border entry, prolonged lockdowns and quarantines are aimed to promote a zero-Covid strategy to prevent the even minimal infection among people. However, Heihe city would offer 100,000 yuan ($15,500) as a reward to seek the information over Covid cases.

"In order to uncover the source of this virus outbreak as soon as possible and find out the chain of transmission, it is necessary to wage a people's war of epidemic prevention and control," the city government said in a notice.

Officials said cases of smuggling, illegal hunting and cross-border fishing should be reported immediately, adding that those who have bought imported goods online ought to "immediately sterilise" them and send them for tests.

As per the official data over 3.5 million children aged between 3 and 11 are vaccinated. Presently health authorities urged rapid vaccination of more children.
China's leadership has shown its stance on rigorous anti-virus to extol the virtues of capital. In an interview with Phoenix Television being shared on Chinese social media, virologist and University of Hong Kong professor Guan Yi appeared to call for better data to evaluate China's vaccine efficacy.

"We should not be carrying out mass nucleic acid tests at every turn" to detect Covid-19 cases, or blindly taking booster jabs, he said.

Moreover he appealed to keep on updating over testing antibodies and updates by vaccine makers on the effectiveness against variants whose approved vaccines efficacy rates ranged between 50 and 79 percent and lagged behind the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines despite five approved vaccines in China.
