Chocolate is loved by everyone, irrespective of any gender, age group. Everyone loves to have a block of chocolate and to honor this love, every year July 7 is celebrated as ‘World Chocolate Day’ or ‘International Chocolate Day’.

This day is celebrated on different dates in different countries and there is also National Milk Chocolate Day on July 28 and National Bittersweet Chocolate with Almonds Day on November 7.

Chocolate is a ‘kind of’ vegetable as dark chocolate comes from the cocoa beans, which grow on Theobroma cocoa (cocoa tree), an evergreen from the family Malvaceae.

Let’s try something chocolaty. Here are three dishes who may try on this chocolate day:

1.  Chocolate Oats square bars: In a large bowl take 1 cup butter and sugar and mix till light and fluffy, add two eggs and 2 teaspoons vanilla essence. Combine the oats, flour and a tablespoon of salt and baking soda.

Mix all the ingredients, press two-thirds of the oat mixture into a greased baking pan.

Take a large pan, combine the milk, chocolate chips, salt and remaining butter. Melt at low flame. Remove from heat. Spread the chocolate on the crust and then sprinkle with oats.

Bake at 250 degrees for 25 minutes and cut into squares.

2. Cupcakes: Preheat oven to 148 degrees Celsius and prepare cupcake with liners.

Add all-purpose flour, sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, a pinch of salt and baking soda in a bowl and mix all.

In a separate bowl all egg, buttermilk, vanilla and vegetable oil and mix until well combined, then add water to make the batter thin.

Put the cupcakes in the oven for 18-23 minutes. Remove the cupcakes from the oven and then allow them to cool.

Pipe the frosting onto the cupcakes and your cupcakes are ready.

3. Chocolate ganache cake: Preheat oven to 175 degrees Celsius and prepare a pan by spraying cooking oil spray.

In a bowl add the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cocoa powder together. Whish until everything is evenly combined.

In a separate bowl whisk eggs, vanilla and oil together then add the milk and cooled coffee and whisk until blended.

Put wet ingredients into dry and whisk well. Divide batter and place in the oven. Bake it for approximately 40 to 45 minutes.

Let it cool before icing. Then enjoy your chocolate ganache cake!
