A cloudburst wasreported near the holy Amarnath Cave shrine in Jammu and Kashmir. Reports saidtwo State Disaster Response Force teams are at the site to tackle thesituation.

Amarnath Yatra is postponedthis time and no passenger is present at the place where this accidenthappened. A video of the incident has surfaced on social media. It showeda huge quantity of water flowing downstream from a mountain near the camps ofsecurity forces at the cave shrine. 

No casualty orinjuries have been reported in the incident so far as no pilgrim was present atthe cave shrine in J&K’s Anantnag district.

The J&K Policehas issued an advisory for the people stating that in view of the incessantrains and cloudburst near the holy cave shrine, the general publics in areas ofGund and Kangan have been advised to stay away from River Sindh as there may besudden increase in the flow of water.

has spoken to Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinhaand said, "NDRF teams are being sent there for relief operations and anaccurate assessment of the situation."

Apart from this, At leastseven people were killed and around one and a half dozen injured in a cloudburstin Kishtwar district early on Wednesday. At the same time, seven people diedin the flood caused by cloudburst in Lahaul-Spiti, Himachal Pradesh. Here,in Chamba also two people are reported to have died.

Earlier, twocloudbursts in the Kargil district of the Ladakh UT last evening damaged theKargil—Leh highway, about a dozen houses, standing crops and a mini powerproject.

Also, one cloudburstoccurred at village Khangral about 60 km from Kargil and the other in the Sankusub-division on the Zanskar Road.
