What is Pearl Scam Case?

The Pearls group companies allegedly collected around Rs 60,000 crore (approx) from around 5.5 crore investors all across the country, including thousands of victims from Punjab, on the pretext of investing money in the various schemes of the group.

11 persons were detained by the CBI earlier this year concerning an alleged Rs 60,000 crore investment fraud carried out by the Pearls organization. The arrests were made among other places in Delhi, Chandigarh, Kolkata, and Bhubaneswar.

The inquiry further showed that the alleged funds acquired under the aegis of a private firm with a base in Jaipur and intended for supposed investments in Australian businesses were fraudulently diverted by the accused people. It has been claimed that about 132.99 million Australian dollars were found to have been routed to Australian businesses.
