Taking strict action against indiscipline, Congress Disciplinary Committee has issued a show-cause notice to Sunil Jhakar. After hearing the complaints lodged against Jakhar, the committee took this action. He has been asked to respond within one week. A further decision will be taken after Jakhar’s reply.

According to the sources, all the data of Jakhar’s statements against the party and the party leaders has been gathered. It includes the tweets, statements and interviews before and during the elections. The committee also investigated the authenticity of complaints.

The Punjab Congress is facing problems in the state as there is an internal dispute in the party. It also affected the party’s results during elections. But now the high command seems to be serious about it as they took strict action against the complaints. The High Command also realize that the biggest reason for the defeat of the Congress in Punjab has been the lack of solidarity, mutual tussle, and the policy of putting each other down.

It is noted that the party had earlier taken the complaint of former CM Channi very seriously. Jakhar’s indecent remarks about the SC community had put a bad impact on Congress. The SC community across the state is protesting against him and demanding to register a case against Jakhar under the SC-ST Act. Channi also met Rahul Gandhi and submitted him a written complaint. In the complaint, he had said that his anti-party activities have adversely affected the results even during the elections.
