Congress MP Ravneet Bittu, ex-minister Bhushan Ashu & 2 more sent to judicial custody

Congress MP from Ludhiana in Punjab, Ravneet Singh Bittu, has been sent to jail for 14 days. Along with him, former minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu, former senior deputy mayor Shyam Sundar Malhotra, district Congress chief Sanjay Talwar have also been sent to judicial custody.

 

These leaders had locked the Municipal Corporation office a few days ago. On this the police registered an FIR against him. After this the leaders had announced arrest in this case. Ludhiana police commissioner Kuldeep Singh Chahal said four leaders who were named in a FIR, for creating a ruckus outside the Ludhiana MC office, were arrested.

 

Ravneet Bittu, Bharat Bhushan Ashu, district Congress president Sanjay Talwar and former senior deputy mayor Sham Sunder Malhotra were produced in a court, which sent them to judicial custody.

 

On Congress MP Ravneet Singh Bittu's 14-day judicial custody in the case related to the locking of the Municipal Corporation Office, Advocate JS Sibal says, "... The police arrested him today and produced him today itself... Supreme Court guidelines have been sidelined in this case... The court has reserved the stay order for tomorrow...".

 

On his 14-day judicial custody in the case related to the locking of the Municipal Corporation Office, Congress MP Ravneet Singh Bittu says, "This is the matter of the Court... This is the dictatorship of the government. We will continue our struggle. We have faith in the Court... We are going to jail for the sake of the people... Tomorrow, another hearing will take place.."

 

On Tuesday, a large number of supporters including MPs Bittu, Shyam Sundar, Sanjay Talwar and Bharat Bhushan Ashu reached outside the DC office. During this, there was a huge uproar between the police and Congress supporters. There was a scuffle between Congress workers and the police as they tried to break the barricades. In which even the turbans of the policemen came off.
