Congress MP Phulo Devi collapses inside Parliament during protest against NEET paper leak; rushed to hospital

In a shocking development, Congress Rajya Sabha MP Phulo Devi on Friday collapsed inside the Parliament while she was protesting against the NEET Paper leak. Phulo Devi was carried to an ambulance by Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs of India Kiren Rijiju and other leaders present there. Thereafter, Phulo Devi was rushed to a nearby hospital. Congress MP Phulo Devi Netam has been reportedly taken to RML Hospital and currently her condition is said to be stable.

The opposition on Friday continued demand to discuss the irregularities in the NEET examination of the Parliament. With the government insisting on first completing the motion of thanks to the presidential address both houses were adjourned with the Lok Sabha adjourned till Monday, July 1, 11 AM.

BJD Rajya Sabha MP Sasmit Patra while talking to a newswire said, "We strongly wanted a debate on NEET. When the said was not done, we went to the well of the House, we protested, we asked for a discussion on NEET, that was also not allowed. Thereafter, just a few minutes back, an honourable member of the Rajya Sabha Phulo Devi Netam fainted. She is being shifted to RML Hospital, we are also going to check on her health. We had only requested that the House should be adjourned because the honourable member had fainted, even that was not done. So, all opposition parties walked out in protest."

Reacting to Phulo Devi fainting in the Parliament, DMK MP Tiruchi Siva said, "Phulo Devi (Netam) from the Congress party suddenly fainted and her blood pressure is 214/113, which may even lead to stroke. Even after that, they are resuming the debate. I have never never this in two decades."

TMC MP Sagarika Ghose said, "They (NDA government) are not showing any mercy and they are continuing to run the House. So, we have walked out in protest because she (Congress MP Phulo Devi Netam) became unconscious, fell on the floor and there was such lack of concern from the government."
