"Dirty conspiracy to defame Maharashtra": Congress slams BJP after Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey resigns to allegedly contest elections

Congress has slammed the move by Gupteshwar Pandey and accused the BJP of doing 'dirty politics' by using the name of Sushant Singh Rajput.

A Huge controversy started to erupt after Bihar Director General of Police (DGP) Gupteshwar Pandey on Tuesday stepped down from his post after taking voluntary retirement from the services (VRS). His VRS request was approved by Governor Phagu Chauhan.

Going by the reports, Gupteshwar Pandey may contest the upcoming election from Buxar for BJP. Sanjiv Kumar Singhal, the Director-General of Civil Defence and Fire Services, has been given the additional charge of DGP Bihar till further orders. 

Pandey got immense support from the nation after he took over Sushant Singh Rajput's case. Now, Congress has slammed the move by Gupteshwar Pandey and accused the BJP of doing 'dirty politics' by using the name of Sushant  Singh Rajput. 

Congress spokesperson Sachin Sawant took to twitter and wrote, "Big dirty conspiracy of BJP to defame Maharashtra to reduce its national importance! Bihar DGP who was used in this being blatantly rewarded. His VRS says it all. BJP had no sympathy for SSR but saw political opportunity to use his death for Bihar elections & now for new film city."
