Conman who duped Rishabh Pant arrested from Panchkula club for duping Jalandhar's travel agent in disguise as ADGP

In a major breakthrough, a conman and hi aide were arrested by Mohali Police who cheated cricketer Rishabh Pant of Rs 1.6 crore in 2021. This time the conman posed an AGDP Alok Kumar and duped a Jalandhar-based travel agent for lakhs of rupees. After the travel agent's complaint, Mohali Police nabbed the conman who is reportedly a resident of Faridabad Sector-17 resident named Nirnath alias Mrinank and a Panipat resident Raghav Goyal. As per reports, Mrinank Singh is a former cricketer from Haryana and was earlier caught by the Mumbai Police on charges of cheating a businessman of Rs 6 lakh.

As per Mohali Police, the conman and his aide were arrested from a Panchkula club where he was in pursuit of his next target. Talking about the Jalanahdar-baed travel agent's complaint Vijay Singh had alleged that Mrinank posed as an assistant director general of police, had got domestic air tickets and hotel rooms booked for ₹5.78 lahks. The accused later met him in Mohali, where he borrowed ₹50,000 cash, promising to return it within 15 minutes, however, fled. After the travel agent's complaint, a case under Section 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code was registered against an unidentified person.

Talking about Rishabh Pant's case, conman Mrinank approached Rishabh Pant and his manager Puneet Solanki claiming that he was into the business of buying and selling luxury watches, bags, and jewelry. Trusting Mrinank's story, Rishabh Pant's manager Puneet had handed over a luxury watch and a few other jewelry items to Mrinank for resale. In return, the conman issued a cheque of ₹1,63,00,000 in February 2021 and gave it to Pant's team. However, Mrinank's cheque later bounced. Notably, Mrinank was recently released from Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai. He was sent to jail by Mumbai Police for duping a businessman.
