Coronavirus Punjab: 70-years-old Jalandhar lady tests positive for virus

With a report of 70-years-old lady tested positive for deadly coronavirus, the panic among the locals of Jalndhar city grew rapidly.

A lady--70 years-old resident of Nijatam Nagar, Jalandhar city got her Covid-19 report positive following which the police has swung into an action and has sealed the area along-with the affected woman's house. 

Jalandhar Health Department nodal officer TP Singh Sandhu confirmed that the report of a 70-year-old woman from Nijatam Nagar has come out positive. Currently, the health department and the police administration are in full swing.

Dr TP Singh further said that the moment they were reported about the patient, immediately a health team was sent to the residential area. Nearby people are now also being tested and the area is fully sealed. 50 more samples of the suspected cases have also been sent for the examination, out of which 18 cases reported negative. Health authority has reached the area and is gathering travel history of each individual.

It is worth mentioning that 70-years-old who has been tested positive for the virus, had visited Nangali Vale Aashram's congregation on March 10,11 and 12. She also prepared the community food (langar) there. Reportedly, revealtion of these facts have gripped the residents of Nijatam Nagar with fear and panic. 

So far, in the Doaba region of Punjab, 18 positive cases for the Covid-19 have been found. 3 cases are of Hoshiarppur, 3 of Phillaur's Virka village. Samples of 60 people were collected from the Nawanshehr out of which 40 samples have been found negative.
 
Notably, 20 villages in Doaba have been sealed are being sanitized.
