The Coronavirus is growing at a faster rate in India. In its recent updates, three members of Punjab CM Channi’s family have tested positive for Covid-19, while the CM has tested negative.
Earlier, his principal secretary Hussan Lal was found positive and he is isolated at home.
CM Charanjit Singh Channi has canceled all his rallies due to the corona outbreak. On Wednesday, he stated that he has decided not to attend Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official program in Ferozepur because his principal secretary Hussan Lal and a personal assistant had tested positive a few days ago.
CM Channi requested all the residents of Punjab to follow Covid guidelines but he was seen attending rallies without wearing a mask. He himself violated the rules of social distancing. During his rally in Ludhiana’s Machiwada, he was not wearing the mask. He addressed around four thousand people there and no social distancing was visible. A total of 18 people were on stage with CM Channi out of which only six were wearing masks.
As his three family members have now tested positive, so CM Channi might isolate himself at the government residence as a precautionary measure.
