United-States Joe-Biden Coronavirus-Vaccination

The United States President-elect Joe Biden on Friday said that Americans will not be compelled to get Covid-19 vaccine and he will get vaccinated publicly to satisfy any concerns about its efficacy and safety. Addressing reporters at a news conference in Wilmington, Delaware, Biden said that he would not make vaccination mandatory.

Responding to a question if COVID-19 vaccine is made mandatory, Biden, who is due to take office on January 20, said he will ensure that the vaccine is both free and available for everyone and will follow up on any health complications related to the vaccine.

Biden said he will do anything in his power as the president of the US to encourage the citizens to do the right thing. He said he will ask people to commit for 100 days to wear masks. Joe added that if people for some reason wear masks until the vaccine is distributed, the country would see a drop in the number of deaths.

They are going to see hundreds of thousands of people not getting sick; and my hope is they will be then inclined to say okay, it’s worth the patriotic duty to go ahead and protect other people, Biden said.

The US, on Friday, registered 2,861 new fatalities. The country has more than 14 million total confirmed cases of coronavirus and over 275,000 deaths so far.

Biden said he is willing to get vaccinated in public to assuage any concerns about its efficacy and safety. Biden further added that he believes that if he takes the vaccine publicly, people will get some confidence in getting an immunisation.

Biden said, responding to a question adding that what bothers him the most is the wild assertions the Trump administration is making about how this is going to go away. By far in the administration of the nation, confidence among the Americans have diminished. But he reassured that in this present administration with the African

American and Latino community we will stand strong, said Biden. “We’re not going to be the guinea pigs. We’re not going to be the guinea pigs,” he said.

Biden ensured that tens of millions of Americans will take the vaccine and people will be going to see the president of the United States and three of the four living former presidents doing it publicly as well.

He added that it will take some effort to rebuild people’s confidence in science because it’s been so diminished in this administration so far.
