Coronavirus Updates: India's COVID-19 tally reaches 91.4 lakh

Globally, more than 5.85 crore confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported and 13.86 lakh have died so far.

According to the Union Health Ministry data on Monday India recorded 44,059 new coronavirus cases pushing the country’s caseload to 91 lakh, while the recoveries increased to 85,62,641. There are 91,39,865 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the country. With  511 new fatalities, the death toll climbed to 1,33,738. 

The number of active cases remained below 5 lakh for the thirteenth consecutive day. 

India has 4,43,486 active cases of Covid infection which comprises 4.85 per cent of the total caseload. The national recovery rate stood at 93.68 per cent, while the COVID-19 case fatality rate stands at 1.46 per cent.   

According to the ICMR, over 13.25 crore samples have been tested up to November 22 with 8,49,596 samples being tested on Sunday.


COVID-19 latest development:-

# An order has been passed to close two evening markets in Nangloi in west Delhi for violation of Covid-19 safety measures was withdrawn by the district administration hours after it was issued, officials said on Monday.

# Karnataka not to reopen schools in December.  However, the scenario of Covid-19 in the state shall be reviewed in last week of December to consider reopening of schools at the appropriate time subsequently said Technical Advisory Committee, Karnataka.

# Rajasthan Health Minister Raghu Sharma has tested positive for COVID-19 today. The Congress leader in the cabinet minister of medical and health, medical education, Ayurveda and DIPR in the Rajasthan government and an MLA from Kekri. 

# Gujarat reported 1,495 new covid cases on November 22, taking the state’s caseload to 1,97,412. 

# Maharashtra's COVID-19 tally remains the highest among Indian states and union territories, according to the Union Health Ministry's with over 17.8 lakh cases.

# With 13 new cases of coronavirus in Mizoram, the state’s caseload reached 3,660. There are  463 active covid cases, while 3,192 people have recovered from the disease.

# Schools in some rural areas of Pune have reopened on Monday. 

# COVID-19 tally of five worst-affected states, according to the health ministry (includes recoveries, deaths and active cases):-

  •  Maharashtra - 17,80,208 cases 
  •  Karnataka - 8,73,046 cases
  •  Andhra Pradesh - 8,62,213 cases
  •  Tamil Nadu - 7,69,995 cases
  •  Kerala - 5,62,695 cases

# Chhattisgarh yesterday recorded 1,748 fresh COVID-19 cases, pushing the state’s infection count to 2,23,436. With 19 more fatalities, the total death toll in the state rose to 2,732. The state’s recoveries increased to 1,99,311, while there are 21,393 active cases.

# With 602 new COVID-19 cases, Telangana’s caseload rose to  2,64,128, while 3 deaths took the death toll to 1,433 on November 22.
