A legal enquiry against Anna University VC MK Surappa has been ordered by the Tamil Nadu government on charges of corruption and violations. The VC dismissed all the charges and said he was ready to face any enquiry and interrogation.

The higher education department established an enquiry committee which will be headed by High Court judge Justice P Kalaiyarasan.

Terming the charges as grave in nature, the department said the committee will investigate the accusations against the Anna University VC. The enquiry had been directed by the Tamil Nadu government due to corruption, irregularity and fraud allegations against the Anna University VC including some others.

Judge Justice P Kalaiyarasan will investigate these allegations and if found real, measures to keep such situations from repeating will be suggested.

But Anna University VC MK Surappa has refused all charges against him and said that he had never been involved in any corruption act and had not taken even one paisa.

He states that he was clean and innocent and has served in several prestigious institutes such as IITs and has fulfilled all those positions with dignity.
