With the advancement in technology, significant changes can be experienced in life. One such pleasant incident took place in Tamil Nadu. A couple got married in Metaverse. In their virtual wedding as avatars, they got a chance to invite bride’s late father in their wedding.

Dinesh SP and Janganandhini Ramaswamy hosted their Hogwarts-themed Metaverse wedding reception on February 6. About 6,000 people from all over the world took part in this wedding reception. Bride’s father Ramaswamy who passed away in April 2021, blessed the couple at their wedding. This tradition plus technology combination helped the couple to seek blessings on their big day from people around the world.

Speaking to News18, Dinesh said, “We had planned to hold such an event for the first time in India. Implementing such an idea in the countryside was a big challenge. Despite that, we organised this event to fulfill my wife’s wish. Bringing the original characters through NFT was our main focus. We held this for marketing strategy, and to make a difference on the same. As my father-in-law passed away during April last year, we felt that this would be an ideal way to bring him through Metaverse avatar to our wedding.”

Dinesh has been a crypto and stock enthusiast. The idea of holding the wedding reception in Metaverse world is that blockchain is the principle behind the virtual world, he said.
