An Odisha resident was shocked after he found a snake inside his courier as he was unpacking the parcel at Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district on Sunday.
The man was identified as S Muthukumaran, a native of Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh.
Muthukumaran said as soon as he found cobra inside the courier at his present home in Rairangpur area of Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, he informed the forest officials who then released the snake in its natural habitat.

Muthukumaran said he had booked a parcel through a private courier agency a fortnight back.
The consignment was dispatched from Guntur through the courier firm on August 9 to Muthukumaran.
As I opened the consignment containing household articles, I was shocked to see a cobra. The snake might have entered into the box as it was being shipped to Odisha, Muthukumaran said.
Forest official Bipin Chandra Behera said they received a message regarding snake inside a parcel on Sunday. I immediately rushed with my colleague and rescued the snake. We later left it inside the forest, he said.
