Researchers from IIT Kanpur said, “the fourth wave of COVID-19 in India may start around 22 June and continue till 24 October. This time the symptoms of corona may be slightly different.”

The threat of the Coronavirus pandemic is not over yet. Of course, new daily cases of corona are decreasing but the virus is not completely eradicated yet. There was just some respite from the Omicron variant, the deadliest form of corona so far, that researchers have predicted that the country may soon get the fourth wave of COVID-19.

In a study published on Medrxiv, researchers from IIT Kanpur said, “the fourth wave of corona in India may start around 22 June and continue till 24 October.” They have said that if the fourth wave of COVID-19 emerges, it could last for at least four months.

The wave may reach its peak from August 15 to August 31 and decrease after that. This is the third time that researchers from IIT Kanpur have developed a COVID-19 virus in the country.

At this time how deadly the fourth wave will be, researchers said that its severity will depend on the variant and vaccination of the corona.

Will Omicron BA.2 Cause the Fourth Wave?

Given the current situation, Omicron BA.2 may cause the fourth wave of coronavirus. At present, the cases of Omicron and all the earlier variants have come down all over the world. Although Omicron BA.2 has gained momentum in some countries including India and its cases are increasing rapidly.

What is Omicron BA.2?

Omicron BA.2 is a sub variant of Omicron. It is also known as Stealth Omicron. Omicron BA.2 can spread faster than the Delta and Omicron variants of Corona. This variant of the corona has spread rapidly in the last few weeks and its symptoms are also different from the coronavirus variant.

 Early Symptoms of Omicron BA.2

According to one report, dizziness is one of the early symptoms of the Omicron sub variant.  There can be other reasons for dizziness but if the condition persists, then a doctor should be contacted. Another symptom is fatigue. A doctor from South Africa, Angelique Coetzee, said fatigue can also be the first symptom of Omicron.

What are the symptoms of Omicron BA.2?

The characteristics of BA.2 are similar to those of its parent form Omicron. Symptoms related to the stomach are also seen in the victims of the Omicron sub variant, along with the common symptoms of the corona. When suffering from this, you may feel fever, persistent cough and worsen of taste along with other symptoms-

 Nose Bleed
 Feeling Tired
 Headache

 New Types of Persistent Cough

 Shortness of Breath
 Muscle or Body Pain
Loss of sense of taste or smell
 Sore Throat
 Vomiting or Nausea
 Diarrhoea

Abdominal symptoms of Omicron BA.2

It is being said that stomach complaints are being seen in patients suffering from Omicron BA.2. The reason for this is that the coronavirus enters the body through the mouth or nose and goes to the lungs. In some cases, it can even go into the intestine and you may feel different symptoms.

 Nausea
 Diarrhea
 Vomiting
 Stomach Ache
 Stomach Irritation
