Singapore:A man of Indian origin was sentenced to 7 years imprisonment in Singapore jail and six strokes of canes for stabbing his wife. His wife, Mayuri Krishnakumar worked as a sex worker and was pregnant. He flee the scene after stabbing her using a knife with 10cm blade and that too twice in her abdomen. Jayselan N Chandrasegar,the convict became furious after he saw his wife talking to a man he belived to be a pimp. Jayselan was arrested later that day.
The court confirmed that the unborn baby was not harmed during the attack. Mayuri said that when she informed her husband about her pregnancy, he refused to believe that the child was his and also accused her of infidelity.
