Srinagar, Jan 5 (UNI) A drug peddler was arrested on Saturday by police during a naka checking in the down town Srinagar, a police spokesman said.
He said, on a tip-off, a naka was laid for checking at Khanyar chowk on Saturday during which a drug peddler identified as Owais Ahmad Gilla, resident of Habba Kadal in the old city was arrested.
He said 183 tables of Spasmoproxyvon Plus were recovered from him. He said the accused was to sell these tables among the youth of the area.
Police have registered a case and further investigation taken up.
He said apart from taking action against such drug peddlers, police have started counseling drug peddlers to shun the path of drugs.
