Abu Dhabi: A man has been sentenced to 60 days imprisonment as well as a fine of 20,000 dirhams for calling his fiancée ‘Idiot’ in a Whatsapp message.The man is claiming to have said the word jokingly but his fiancée has taken it as an insult and filed a court case against him, reported the Khaleej Times on Tuesday.
As per reports another man was detained for having sent explicit vedios and texts to six women. However the covict said that his cellphone was stolen and he had no idea as to who sent those explicit texts and vedios.
Legal consultant Hasan Al Reymi said that any offensive content on social media of messaging services will be subject to prosecution whether the meassege was sent ‘acidentally’ or ‘on purpose’.
