A
daily wage worker said to be the resident of a village in the Jind District of
Haryana confessed to murdering his 5 minor children over the span of 5 years. His
motive was to get rid of poverty. Apparently, an occultist had lured him and
had promised to help him get rid of his “impoverished lifestyle” on the pretext
that if he sacrificed his children, his days of poverty would end.
After
the occultist “charlatan” put forward his “quack fix” to end the naïve man’s
misery, Jumma the accused, murdered his children.
According
to I.G Mr. Ashvin Shenvi, his two daughters had gone missing on the 17th
of July. The body of one girl was recovered from the Hansi- Butana link canal
near the village whereas, the other girl’s body was found near the outskirts of
the village.
According
to reports, Jumma has also said to have confessed to murdering his eldest and a
younger son along with another daughter in front of the village’s panchayat.
The
accused has now been detained by the officials.
