DAV University organized Google Fact Check Workshop: Managing Director True Scoop, Ms. Khyati Kohli trained the students of Journalism Department on fact-checking

During the workshop, some important laws related to digital media were also highlighted by the trainer Ms Kohli.

In the era of digital media where misinformation is seen as a bane and the information is shared as well as circulated without fact-checking, it has become integral to overcome the ill effects of misinformation and bring out the right facts about the same. For the above-stated purpose, a special workshop was organized for the students of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at DAV University.

Google Trained trainer Khyati Kohli from the Google News Initiative India Training Network organized this workshop on a special invitation from the university. Trainer Khyati Kohli is a young entrepreneur who is running a web-based English media venture.

The specially organized workshop taught audio-video fact checks, data validation & collection, climate change and global change, ethical responsibility. During the workshop, some important laws related to digital media were also highlighted by the trainer Ms. Khyati Kohli. Students also asked questions related to their past experience and future from the trainer. She explained how fact-checking departments are being set up to fight misinformation in the digital age.

Ms. Khyati Kohli was welcomed by the Coordinator of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication Mr. Rama Shankar. True Scoop chief editor Rakesh behal, Faculty members Ms. Kavita Devi and Mr. Arvinder Singh were present on this occasion.
